Paste Options in Ms Excel






MS Excel Paste and Paste Special commands gives a lot of useful options. You can use them to paste anything be it is to paste values, paste data, paste formatting, transposing data and many more.
The following examples illustrates the various paste options in MS Excel. 

How to Paste values

>> Select the range, Right click, click Copy (or press CTRL + c). CTRL + c is shortcut key for copy
>> Select the cell where you want the first cell of the range to appear, Right click
>> Click Paste under 'Paste Options:' (or press CTRL + v).**CTRL + v is shortcut key for paste

How to Paste Sum Formula

>> Select cell B7, right click, click Copy.
>> Now, select cell D7, right click, click paste special and select formula.
You can check the Result by filling in range from D2 to D6.

How to paste Formatting

>> Select the cell or range from where you want to copy the formatting, right click, and then click Copy.
>> Select the cell or range where you want to paste the formatting.
>> Right click the range or cell, and then click Formatting under 'Paste Special'

How to paste comments

>> Select the cell from where you want to copy the comments, right click, and then click Copy.
>> Select the cell where you want to paste the comments.
>> Right click cell, and then click comments under 'Paste Special'
