STEP 1 : To format JSON in Notepad++
Go to Plugins > Plugin Manager > Show Plugin Manager

Select the JSTool Plugin and click Install

Download plugin jstoolnpp
NOTE : (JSToolNPP.1.20.0.uni.32.zip) worked for me, Check your system settings for 32 bit or 64 bit and download accordingly.
STEP 2 : To install the JSON formatter manually in Notepad++
Unzip downloaded JSToolNPP.1.20.0.uni.32.zip
STEP 3 : To install the JSON formatter manually in Notepad++
Copy JSMinNPP.dll from unzipped file and paste it in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++\plugins
STEP 4 : To install the JSON formatter manually in Notepad++
Now restart (or start if not started) the Notepad++ for installation to take effect.
STEP 5 : To install the JSON formatter manually in Notepad++
Go to Plugins > JSTool > JSFormat
Or simply use keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + M
